Winash residential home was established in 1938 and has a long history of providing excellent care in this beautiful location in Clevedon.
Heather House’s family bought the care home in 1973. They lived and worked here, providing on-site care for residents, 24 hours a day. Heather briefly left Winash to complete her nursing training and once qualified, she returned, becoming the manager in 1996 and the owner in 2003.
“The business has been in my family for over 50 years and we have built strong relationships within the community. We’re trusted to care for families’ loved ones because we take the time to get to know them. Second and third generations have called Winash home.”
We make it our family business to care for your family.
Our trained staff adapt their care as appropriate.
You’re always treated with dignity, while being fully supported to live well.
“My mother was very independent, and it was a worry when she had to move from her home into Winash. The staff were very understanding and gave her the space and support to adjust to this great change in her life. It didn’t take long until she felt at home and comfortable in her surroundings, so much so that she would say ‘now you can take me back to the hotel’ when she was out with us. Living in a foreign country I never felt far away from my mother with the good and clear communication from all members of staff, which gave me great peace of mind. I will always be gratefully for how accommodating everyone was to make my mother’s final days as calm and respectful as anyone could wish for.”
“Winash was recommended to us as having a stable base of caring and experienced staff, who would have the right balance of skills to meet our relative’s overall needs. After just over a year, she is the happiest in herself that she’s been for a very long time. Thankyou to all at Winash.”
“Mum has been a resident at Winash for almost 5 years. We think the staff are amazing and Mum says the food is so good. The Queen sent her a birthday card during Lockdown and the wider family were able to Zoom with her on the Great Day! A huge Thankyou to ALL the team at Winash for keeping Mum happy and comfortable”
“A heartfelt thanks to all the staff at Winash for looking after my mother so well in the last years of her life. It was particularly difficult for everyone during the lock-downs, but what made it a bit easier, was knowing that mum was well cared for. The staff did everything they could to keep mum occupied, and us in touch with each other through zoom and later over the garden wall and in the specially built ‘pod’. Mum loved the staff at Winash and had nothing but praise for them. She truly saw Winash as her home because she was so happy there.”
